The majority of sign work that you will see is carried out in self adhesive vinyl.
There are many forms of vinyl available, they fall into two main categories, cast and calendered.
Cast - Cast vinyl is made by casting molten vinyl through a wide thin nozzle and this is cast onto a backing paper. The standard thickness is only 5 microns, this makes the vinyl very conformable and stable which helps to increase the life of the product.
Calendered - Calendered vinyls start off as a large piece of vinyl and this is rolled (calendered) through a series of rollers to flatten and lengthen the material. This stretch can cause the vinyls to want to return to the original shape so they can shrink and due to the limitations of how thin the vinyl can be rolled the vinyl is heavier, and less conformable.
We also stock reflective, window effect, polyester - chromelike gold and silver and banner films.
